Fire truck party visits depend on availability of drivers and are not guaranteed due to the unpredictability of emergencies.

Smoke Alarm Campaign

Home safety inspection and installation of smoke detectors to residents
of  West Deer Township.

Is your family adequately protected by smoke detectors?  West Deer VFC #3 offers home safety inspection and installation of smoke detectors to residents of West Deer Township.  Smoke detectors should be replaced every 10 years, batteries replaced when clocks change, and tested once a month.  Smoke detectors provided by a 2012 Federal Fire Prevention Grant obtained by West Deer VFC #3, available while supplies last.

Your family should also be protected by a carbon monoxide (CO) detector.  Carbon Monoxide
(CO) is a deadly, colorless, odorless, poisonous gas.  It is produced by the incomplete burning of various fuels, including coal, wood, charcoal, oil, kerosene, propane, and natural gas.  Products
and equipment powered by internal combustion engines such as portable generators, cars, lawn mowers, and power washers also produce CO.  Learn more at the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Thank you for your concern regarding the small electrical fire that we had in our kitchen yesterday. Everyone got out of the building quickly and safely. Thank you to all of our customers and staff for being patient while the fire was put out and the building was secured- even after no one was allowed off of the property because Route 910 was temporally shut down.
